Synopsis : Grameen Bank pioneered the innovative microcredit and social business projects for poverty alleviation at a time when many multilateral organization’s prescriptions for the same purpose were failed. The success of Grameen Bank experience was replicated in more than seventy developing as well as developed countries including the USA. The success of Grameen development model was acclaimed by many multilateral donor agencies and was awarded The Nobel Peace Prize of 2006 to this organization and its founder Professor Muhammad Yunus.
During the conference, Mr. Rahman will discuss the “Social Business Model” of the Grameen Bank group and its related issues, propose a structured framework of social business process and highlight various socially oriented joint venture projects between Grameen Bank Group and multinational firms like Danone, Veolia, Addidas, Intel, OTTO and Reebok.
